AKOGHS Board Members to Present at Alaska Historical Society Conference

The Alaska Oil & Gas Historical Society (AKOGHS) is proud to share that two of our board members will be presenting at the upcoming Alaska Historical Society Conference, taking place September 24–27, 2025 in Fairbanks.

As part of Session 4: The Trans-Alaska Pipeline (Thursday, September 25, 2–3:30 p.m.), AKOGHS leaders will contribute their unique insights and expertise:

• David J. Norton – Fifty Years in Alaska Without TAPS
  
• David W. Haugen – My Experience on the TAPS Project (AKOGHS Vice President)

This session promises to shed light on both the lasting impacts of the pipeline and the experiences of those who worked directly with it.

The participation of our board members highlights AKOGHS’s mission of preserving and sharing the history of Alaska’s oil and gas industry. Their involvement also connects directly to our Museum Planning Committee, chaired by Dave Haugen, which is dedicated to developing an oil and gas museum that will carry these stories forward for generations.
