Alaska Oil & Gas - Podcast RFP

This RFP is limited to the design, production, and promotion of a six (6) episode
pilot podcast series to test format, audience response, and production workflow.

Podcast Purpose and Target Audience

Purpose

The podcast will educate, inform, and connect members, policymakers, industry leaders,
and Alaskan communities around resource development opportunities, policy considerations,
workforce needs, and community impacts. It will serve as a trusted, fact-based platform
that positions the Alliance as an honest broker and bridges industry, education, and
public policy.

Target Audience

Primary Audience

  • Alaska resource development professionals
  • Alliance members and industry stakeholders

Secondary Audience

  • Policymakers and civic leaders
  • Young professionals, students, and educators interested in resource and STEM careers

The podcast prioritizes depth over breadth, using data-driven dialogue,
multi-stakeholder perspectives, and modular episode formats to move audiences
from awareness to understanding.


RFP Relevance

This framework is intended to guide vendor proposals for a limited pilot series and
ensure alignment with the Alliance’s mission, audiences, and communications goals.


Scope of Work for Vendors – Pilot Series

This RFP is limited to the design, production, and promotion of a six (6) episode pilot
podcast series to test format, audience response, and production workflow.

Proposals will be evaluated on the vendor’s ability to successfully deliver a
high-quality six-episode pilot. Proposals shall not exceed six (6) pages in length.

Vendors should propose end-to-end services that include:

  1. Podcast Design & Strategy: Pilot concept, episode formats, topics, and guest approach
  2. Production & Post-Production: Professional audio production (video optional), editing, and mastering
  3. Promotion & Distribution: Publishing support and limited pilot promotion assets
  4. Project Management: Clear timeline, defined roles, and coordination with Alliance staff
  5. Pilot Deliverables:
    • Six (6) completed podcast episodes
    • Proposed promotional assets
    • Brief post-pilot performance summary and recommendations

Proposal Evaluation Criteria

Proposals will be evaluated on the vendor’s ability to successfully deliver a
high-quality six-episode pilot, based on the following criteria:

  1. Understanding of Purpose and Audience – Alignment with the Alliance’s mission and honest-broker approach (15%)
  2. Pilot Concept and Creative Approach – Strength and clarity of the proposed pilot design (10%)
  3. Production Quality and Technical Capability – Audio quality and ability to meet schedule (10%)
  4. Promotion and Audience Development – Realistic pilot launch and engagement strategy (10%)
  5. Project Management and Collaboration – Workflow clarity and responsiveness (10%)
  6. Relevant Experience and Proposed Staff – Past podcast or similar content experience (25%)
  7. Cost and Value – Reasonableness and transparency of pilot budget (20%)
